Dara was part of the first class to graduate from the Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University in 2014. She articled in Kamloops before being called to the bar in 2015.

Before attending law school, Dara obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University in Montréal, Québec, where she grew up. Dara is fluent in French and worked at a citizenship and immigration firm in downtown Montréal where she learned to love lattes and enjoyed wine and cheese team meetings every Wednesday.

After moving to Kamloops she worked for Service Canada adjudicating contentious employment insurance claims.

Dara enjoys open water swimming, yoga, and water-polo. She takes food too seriously and is a season ticket holder to Western Canada Theatre. She is married to a born and raised Kamloopsian and they have two children together and lots of coffee. Dara is proud of her children for being willing to eat or wear almost anything and she hopes they always keep an open mind when it comes to food and fashion.
